Susanne Folschette-Tomaszewski is a General Practitioner based in Luxembourg, where she has been practicing since 2017. She has completed postgraduate training in menopause medicine (University of South Wales) and is a certified menopause coach.

Throughout her years in clinical practice, Susanne began to notice a recurring pattern among many of her female patients: clusters of symptoms that did not fit neatly into a single medical diagnosis or traditional specialty. Over time, it became increasingly clear to her that hormonal changes—particularly during perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause—were often a key underlying factor that remained insufficiently addressed in standard medical training.

Like many physicians, her formal education barely touched on this pivotal phase of a woman’s life. This gap highlighted a broader issue: women’s health requires a far more nuanced, individualized, and sex-specific approach.

Women’s physiology and lived experiences differ significantly from men’s, and these differences deserve full recognition in modern medicine.

Her professional awakening became deeply personal at the age of 39, when she herself began experiencing perimenopausal symptoms. This moment marked a turning point. Motivated by both personal and professional insight, she immersed herself in evidence-based research and specialized training in menopause medicine. The result was not only a transformation in her own health, but also a profound evolution in the way she supports and treats her patients.

Susanne Folschette is firmly convinced that a holistic, patient-centered approach is essential during this stage of life. Menopause medicine, in her view, is not about quick fixes, but about individualized, evidence-based care that genuinely improves quality of life.

Today, she is proud to serve as President of the Lëtz Menopause association. Through her work, she is dedicated to empowering women with knowledge, helping them become active participants in their own health journey, and ensuring they feel supported, informed, and heard.

As a mother of two, raised in a multicultural environment and having lived and studied across Europe, Dr. Folschette-Tomaszewski deeply values diversity, open perspectives, and integrative care. She envisions a future in which every woman can navigate the menopausal transition feeling strong, confident, and in the best possible health.
